Seeking out new music has been a part of my DNA for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s new artists or old artists I may have never heard of before. In 2022 we have unlimited access to music through music apps, YouTube and social media.
One of our upcoming podcasts will be about forgotten bands from 50 years ago. Even in 1972 there were artists who didn’t get the recognition they deserved and have since faded into obscurity. What makes bands like, for example, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin still in the minds and ears all these years but a band like Gentle Giant virtually remain obscure and seldom mentioned or even known about?
Today I give you the song “Proclamation“ from Gentle Giant’s 1974 album “the Power and the Glory”. Think Todd Rundgren meets Steve Winwood (the lead singer reminds me of Steve).
Seek out music and you’ll be wiser you did.
